AKRON, OHIO — As expected by resin buyers, the 4-cent price hike that hit non-film grades of North American polyethylene in February was seen by film grades in March.
Average spot prices for polyethylene and polypropylene slid a penny on negative sentiment, as domestic railcar offers were somewhat limited. Spot-trading platform The Plastics Exchange (TPE) noted that spot resin market activity was good and trade continued to flow at an above average clip. A couple unexpected cracker outages are helping PE producers keep their April $0.04/lb price increase alive, but most other market participants doubt its viability.

The prices of the packing materials vary between packaging suppliers. As a matter of fact, the differences vary sharply from one packing material to another. That is why it is important to know where to look or whom to ask in order to really determine which prices are most favorable to you and your company. However, you must also understand that quality cannot be compromised.
The following are ideas about the prices of the main packing materials, as well as some suggestions to make things more favorable to you.
One of the very first important things that you should always remember as a businessman looking for packing materials is that simplicity brings low prices. In other words, if you look for complex and sophisticated materials, you can expect that this will be coupled with a handsome price tag. Of course, you should also understand that the packing material that you will buy will really be needed by your business. This is the reason why you should make a good list first. In other words, you should really determine which packing materials are necessary for your business. If you are into wholesale, then you will need large packing materials like the cardboard boxes, and, of course, bubble wrap rolls.
Once you have finally determined the types and sizes of the packing materials that you would need to buy, it is time now to compare the different prices from different suppliers and manufacturers. Basically, you would really need to look for wholesalers so that you can save money. After all, it would save you save you a lot of your financial resources if you buy in bulk.
In the UK, most packing manufacturers and suppliers have their own websites. There is not a single company out there who does not maintain a website which runs 24 hours a day and 7 hours a week. This means that looking for the best and the most inexpensive packing materials is easier this time around. For instance, by scouring through the internet, or by googling, you will see that you can actually save more if you buy more of the same product. In other words, the manufacturers actually deduct from their original price if you decide to buy more. If, for example, the original price of a cardboard box is $8.75, about a dollar will be slashed from it if you buy 20 packs of the same cardboard box. Some companies offer more, some less.
